Sailung, is a meeting point of nature and religion is another incentive of Dolakha. This place was named Sailung as it has around hundred small hillocks rolling over the whole place like the meadows of heaven.Sailung is located at the height of 3,146m which is the best viewpoint for the Himalayan panoramas which is located in the border of Ramechhap and Dolakha. It is unique in its own unique landscape and amazing views. This trekking provides fantastic Himalayan panoramas views stretching from Dhauligiri and Annapurna in the West, Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal region &Rolwaling region. Almost 90% of mountains range can be seen from this place and this is another attraction of this place.Sailung trekking is not only for Himalayan views, but it has a very unique structure i.e. hundreds of dooms, the hills where you feel like playing hide and seek. This place has its own distinctive beauty in different seasons like in winter- Sailung is covered with snows from mid-winter and spring is filled with Rhododendrons, and greener pastures leave you speechless remaining seasons. The trail is easy where everyone can easily complete and make beautiful memories.
The dewdrops on the heavenly meadows can be still frozen found in the morning. The hibernating animals were like able to try to peek out of their places, Everything seemed like it was on a verge of new beginning, and it was on a verge of new beginning too. Beginning of a new experience, like every trip does to everyone. The Tamang clans of the Timal, Moktan group connect their origin myth with this mountain. These are Tibetan origin people who migrated to this region in the ancient time and settled here and started to pay respect to the mountains and other important natural monuments. This heritage is the common heritage for the Buddhists and Bons of the whole Himalayan region. There are caves and the mountain which are the pilgrimage centres for the practitioners of these practices living in the surrounding areas. The Buddhist practitioners link the mountain and the caves as the source of the fertility and they worship this place as the Fertility God and God of Wealth. The Bonpo tradition followers link this for the recreation of the mystic power they possess after they reach their and do the healing power. There are two major places called ThuloSailung and Sano Sailung with different caves full of stalagmite and staglatite which are worshipped as the icons of Shiva, therefore, this is one of the important cultural heritage for the Hindus too. Some of the Tamangs connect ThuloSailung and Sano Sailung with the Buddhist Myth of the monkey manifestation of Avalokitesvara and the dew drops found in the cave equivalent to water drops from the stalagmite in the caves as the symbols of Shiva and Guru Rinpoche.
